HABITO, specialised in the creation of solid wood structures for public and domestic spaces, presents works with strong author's character, which is distinguished by the lyrical forms and is easily recognisable by the mastery in the material design. The main characteristics of such works are the formal design of the pieces and the specific treatment of the matter, with the complete work being born from a single block or interlocking structures. In one process you work with the 'lifting methods' typical of the sculptures (you dig the full and you finish with chisel); the other technique follows the theme of the wood (or woods) 'composition' creating structures assembled by joints. Each of these precious techniques, developed over the years by Giuseppe Rivadossi, is applied to the customer's specific requests in ad hoc interventions and creations. The surface finishes allow HABITO to shape the surface, giving the piece a specific external appearance and tactile feel. All their finishes are executed on the premises by hand, by their team of professionals.
Wood is the raw material of this workshop and is always used with maximum respect for its characteristics. Assemblage and block carving are the techniques adopted. Giuseppe Rivadossi's work is aimed at creating a poetic domestic space, at serving and humanising space with new structures linked to ancients traditions. The raw materials, the construction methods and the finishing details are always of the highest quality and sophistication.
Every HABITO creation is made wholly by hand by highly qualified craftsmen in our workshop in Nave, Brescia. The HABITO trademark present on every item guarantees its authenticity, the originality of the design, the high quality of the materials and the precision of the finishes. As a further guarantee, every item is accompanied by a certificate stamped and signed by Giuseppe, Emanuele and Clemente Rivadossi. All the primary characteristics of the work are identified, making the certificate a genuine testimony to the creative process. The quality of the work must be perceptible at every level, all the components of a structure must be linked by a strong dialogue of tension: to be meaningful, the overall image will have coherence and compactness, the proportions and functionality of the whole piece will indicate the design quality; no less important are the technical details, finishes and the choice of raw material, all factors that help to define the overall image.
