Description
Luciano Gaspari’s SASSI vases were created from a halftone hand-blown and hand-formed glass body to which thick coloured glass bands are applied. The challenge was to find the right balance between colour intensity and transparency, keeping the glass bands distinct during the application, and choosing colours that add three-dimensionality while blending with the base. The result of the processing of these two rounded elements is an effect of great fluidity and homogeneity. The first edition of these vases was presented at the 1962 Venice Biennale. A new edition was released in 1981.
